Employer of Record pricing in Bangladesh

Two parts, no surprises: the employee's salary and statutory costs at cost, plus one fixed EORBangladesh fee of USD 299 per employee per month.

How much does an EOR in Bangladesh cost?

An EOR hire through EORBangladesh costs the employee's gross salary plus statutory employer costs, billed at cost, plus one fixed service fee of USD 299 per employee per month (USD 249 from the tenth employee). There is no set-up fee, no percentage-of-payroll charge and no minimum term.

Global platforms typically quote USD 499–699 per employee per month with add-ons for equipment, benefits or currency conversion; incorporating your own entity replaces the fee with USD 2,500 or more a month in office, audit and accounting costs. The EOR vs entity comparison shows the break-even at around 15 employees.

Why a fixed fee rather than a percentage?

A fixed fee means your cost per employee is predictable and does not rise when you give a raise. Statutory costs are legally determined and passed through unchanged, so the only number you negotiate with us is the fee.

What does one engineer cost per month?

Every invoice looks like this: salary and statutory costs at cost, then our fee, then the total.

Sample monthly invoice — one mid-level engineerUSD, Sept 2026
Gross salary (BDT 150,000)USD 1,250
Employer Provident Fund contribution (8% of basic, BDT 90,000)USD 60
Gratuity accrual (30 days' basic per year ÷ 12)USD 62
Festival bonus accrual (2 × basic ÷ 12)USD 125
Statutory employer costs subtotal, at costUSD 247
EORBangladesh service fee, fixedUSD 299
Total monthly cost to youUSD 1,796

Exchange rate BDT 120.00 = USD 1 (Bangladesh Bank published rate on invoice date, no mark-up). Income tax is withheld from the employee's salary, not added to your cost.

How the statutory lines are calculated

  • Provident Fund: 8% of basic wage (BDT 90,000) = BDT 7,200, matched by the employee's own 8% deduction (s.264)
  • Gratuity: 30 days' basic per completed year, accrued monthly = BDT 7,500 (s.2(10))
  • Festival bonus: two bonuses of one month's basic, accrued monthly = BDT 15,000 (Rules 2015, Rule 111)
  • Income tax: withheld from the employee's salary at NBR rates; not an employer cost

Total employer add-on: BDT 29,700, about 20% of gross. Health cover, equipment and workspace are optional and shown separately if you take them.

What one hire actually costs

Client story · anonymised

A worked monthly invoice for one mid-level engineer

A US client asked what the all-in monthly cost would be for a mid-level engineer on a BDT 150,000 monthly salary (basic BDT 90,000). We modelled salary, employer Provident Fund contribution, gratuity accrual, one-twelfth of two festival bonuses and the fixed EORBangladesh fee.

The result was a single USD figure with each BDT line visible, which the client used in its budget approval. The same model is prepared for any role within one business day of the salary being agreed.

Pricing questions

Is there a set-up fee or minimum term?

No set-up fee. Engagements run month to month with 30 days' written notice on either side after the first month. There is no minimum headcount and no lock-in.

What exchange rate is applied to the invoice?

The Bangladesh Bank published buying rate on the invoice date, shown on every invoice alongside the BDT amounts. We add no FX margin; if you prefer to pay in BDT to our Dhaka account, you can.

Are statutory employer costs marked up?

No. Salary, Provident Fund employer contributions, gratuity accrual and festival bonuses are passed through at cost and shown line by line. The only margin is the fixed service fee.

Does the fee change with salary level?

No. The service fee is USD 299 per employee per month regardless of salary, and USD 249 from the tenth employee. This is a deliberate difference from percentage-of-payroll pricing used by some providers.

What is billed separately?

Recruitment (12% of first-year salary or USD 900 fixed), equipment leasing (USD 35 per laptop per month), workspace (USD 120 per seat), health cover premiums (from USD 18), expatriate work-permit government fees and courier or notarisation costs, always agreed in writing before they are incurred.

When and how do we pay?

Invoices are issued on the 28th of each month for the following month's salaries and fees, payable within seven days by bank transfer or Wise. Salaries are paid to employees on the last working day of the month.
